Opening the Book of Creation:

A One week immersion in listening to nature and encountering the Divine in Creation
creation seminar Come join us for a seven day interactive seminar on a 27,000 acre wilderness area in Vermont to learn wilderness skills and how to experience the presence of God in creation. Open to anyone interested, including those of non-Christian religions or other spiritual traditions.

This one week program is intended to empower participants with a deeper understanding of the natural world and their relationship to it, and to facilitate recognizing and experiencing the presence of God in Creation. Participants will learn listening skills, awareness skills, concrete wilderness skills to allow direct immersion in nature, and tools for caretaking the land they are in relationship with. Throughout the program we will explore Biblical and early Christian perspectives on the relationship between humans and the rest of Creation, and the ways in which Christians have experienced nature as a source of spiritual teaching and divine revelation.

The program includes four sections:
  • Deep listening and awareness training (Sunday & Monday)

  • Engaging with Creation – wilderness skills (Tuesday and Wednesday)

  • Encountering God in Creation – 24 hour solo experience (Wednesday PM to Thursday PM)

  • Caretaking Creation – practical stewardship (Friday and Saturday)

Instructor: Mark Kutolowski of New Creation Wilderness. www.newcreationwilderness.org

Dates: July 6-12

Cost: $280/ person which includes your participation in the seminar, accommodations, food, and a bush knife you will keep after the seminar.
