Solidarity Exportation Projects

Solidarity Exportation Projects

The purpose of this area of SIA is to export surpluses and goods donated by individuals and organizations in Canada to concrete communities with particular needs in developing countries, in a dynamic of bridging and training communities in sustainability.

SIA Grain Exportations Project

World hunger is increasing at alarming rates and given the turbulent economic conditions, those with little are the ones that will suffer the most.

SIA is arranging for the shipment of excess grains from Canada to be distributed to the community of Ayaviri, Peru. Ayaviri is an extremely poor region in the Andes Mountains of Peru, which makes the farming of most grains impossible. Over 50% of the population lives in extreme poverty that can not even be imagined by Canadian standards. The grain donations that we export will not only help provide nourishment to the people of Ayaviri, it will help to build solidarity among our communities and reduce the inequality that currently exists between Canada and developing nations.
